I think I found your post and a link to these forums somewhere where there was discussion about installing Discourse. And I think you posted that you found it easy to do on Linode.
I’ve also run blogs and forums for decades, and I have lots of large and small Linodes, and I’m interested in testing Discourse and maybe moving over an existing, old community to Discourse.
Can I ask you a few questions here?
(1) Do you have any links to quickly installing Discourse on a Linode? I can create a new Linode for it.
(2) For my domain, how is SSL handled? Is it like with WordPress blogs where you can install a free SSL cert that updates itself regularly?
(3) Are there multi-language features? I live in Japan and was interested in running Discourse in both English and Japanese.
(4) I wonder if there are features for importing content from old forums created elsewhere? I can script output from my current forums into a compatible format for input if needed.
Anyway, any info to get me started would be appreciated. Thanks!
